- Euphonios announce new release from Escapists
We are very pleased to announce that we will be releasing London band Escapists new EP in April. After recently featuring the band we loved them so much we decided to dust off our label gloves and get back in the game. This will hopefully be the first of many releases this year.
- I Dream In Colour tipped as Sound of 2012
I Dream In Colour were recently tipped in PRS’ Sounds of 2012 list alongside the likes of Here We Go Magic, King Krule, Zulu Winter and Fools Gold - Polarsets get in top songs of 2011 polls
Some nice people recently decided that Polarsets track ‘Leave Argentina’ was worthy of some end of year chat. 32ftpersecond made the song number 23 in their top 50 songs of 2011. Popsucker decided to make it number 43 out of 100 top songs of 2011 and The Recommender made it number 33 out of 100 best tracks of 2011.
All of this is pretty nice considering that the song is not due for release until 2012. A demo of Polarsets next single ‘Tropics’ had it’s debut on radio 1 last night, as a band to watch out for this year.

The Popsucker have been kind enough to include Polarsets track ‘Leave Argentina’ in their top 100 songs of 2011. Even better than that it was number 43 so the band hit top 50! On Monday 12 December 2011, BBC Radio 1’s Festive Festival returns to the legendary BBC Maida Vale Studios for a night of festivities and live performances from some of 2011’s rising stars hotly tipped for big things in the New Year. Kicking off at 7pm, hosts Nick Grimshaw and Zane Lowe introduce an eclectic line-up of artists they have been championing, including Bring Me The Horizon, Emeli Sande, Keaton Henson and Dot Rotton. These much anticipated performances in front of a live audience will be complemented by live mixes from some of dance music’s freshest talent getting behind the decks to showcase some of their latest productions - Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, Unicorn Kid, Jakwob and Gemini. If you’d like to be part of the small audience for the Festive Festival, then we have 75 pairs of tickets to giveaway and all you need to do is register your details online and you and a friend could be joining us. You have to be 18 years or older to go to the show. Names will be selected at random once the registration closes on Wednesday 7th December and applications will be geographically weighted to those living in the local area. The night includes live performances from some of the brightest acts of 2011 AND unwrapped the acts to look forward to in 2012. About
- When, Who, When, Where, Why....
Euphonios started in 2007 as a management company and record label in Glasgow before relocating to London in 2010. Started by Jen Anderson, Euphonios is a meeting place for a broad range of artists who cross over musical borders, from indie and rock through to pop and electronica. Using this diverse mix, Euphonios takes listeners on fresh and exciting new adventures in music. The label has released artists such as Unicorn Kid, Kid Adrift, MOPP, SaintSaviour and Think About Life since 2009. On the management roster we have Unicorn Kid, Polarsets, I Dream In Colour and Dems. In 2011 we also setup two subsidiary labels, one called Eli and Oz and one called Cool Records. Eli and Oz was setup by Jen specifically to release the best up and coming Scottish bands and artists. Cool Records is the record label run by Unicorn Kid and administered by Euphonios.
Jen Anderson 
Jen founded Euphonios is 2007 whilst working as a promoter in Scotland. Her background is in the live sector working her way up from promoter's assistant to Promoter in a few years at DF Concerts (TITP, King Tuts). She booked for King Tuts and also other venues across Scotland and worked as part of the team running T in the Park for 5 years before moving to London to run Euphonios full time. She has a great deal of major and independent label experience working as a scout for Fiction Records and also setting up and running both Euphonios Records and King Tuts Recordings (Twin Atlantic, Kassidy) as well as freelancing across some other labels. Jen is a general all rounder with a good deal of web design, social media and bookkeeping experience. She has also served on the boards of AIM and SMIA and has been involved in BBC Introducing on Radio 1. Jen also runs a small Scottish digital label to release the best of Scotland's talent. Jen manages Unicorn Kid, Polarsets, Dems and I Dream In Colour.

Charlie Moss
Charlie is a new kid on the block, his first industry involvement came after a series of intern placements across EMI labels led him to meet and work for the London-based label Sevensevens. He has run their new music blog since it launched in July 2010, as well as hosting a student radio show on behalf of the label that is dedicated to showcasing and unearthing unsigned UK bands. After a summer placement at Neon Gold in New York, Charlie took up an A&R position at 14th Floor (Warner). Charlie started working for Euphonios in late 2010 and looks after I Dream In Colour with Jen.

UNICORN KID
In 2008 we released Unicorn Kid's debut single 'Lion Hat' to rave reviews across press, radio and online. This only increased after the release of 'Wee Monsters'. Unicorn Kid has since gone on to sign to Ultra Records and EMI Publishing and has remixed the likes of Pet Shop Boys, Gorillaz, Death Cab for Cutie and Far East Movement. 2012 sees the release of his debut album on Ultra Records.

SAINT SAVIOUR
October 2010 saw the release of Saint Saviour's 'Woman Scorned' single. The Groove Armada frontwoman's solo project went down extremely well and found support at radio, both regionally and nationally. You may have heard Saint Saviour's incredible voice – an alluring mix of Sinead O'Connor and Kate Bush – on the last Groove Armada album, Black Light. Or perhaps you saw the singer, real name Becky Jones, on their accompanying tour or when she supported Hurts after singer Theo Hutchcraft was so taken by her at last year's Little Noise Sessions that he personally asked her to go on the road with them. Oh, and Neil Tennant is a bit of a fan too.
THINK ABOUT LIFE
Back in 2010 we released a brilliant Montreal band called Think About Life. I think the original thing that drew us to this band was the quirky pictures of dogs, and more dogs, we love dogs. Anyway we released a 7" single called 'Sweet Sixteen' which came from their debut album Family.
KID ADRIFT
In 2009 we released the wonderful Kid Adrift. The mysterious Glaswegian's brand of Dubstep/Post-Rock/Pop, written, recorded and produced by himself, started appearing solely through word of mouth everywhere from the cover of industry magazine Record of the Day to storming the Reaction Record feature on Zane Lowe's Radio 1 show. Support from Nick Grimshaw, Vic Galloway and Huw Stephens on Radio 1, Tom Robinson and George Lamb on BBC 6 Music as well as XFM. He was one of the first people to take the underground phenomenon of Dubstep to the mass audience. Kid Adrift went on to sign to Island.
I DREAM IN COLOUR
2011 sees the release of Essex band I Dream In Colour's debut single, 'Strangest Place'. Just starting out and already the band have been compared to the likes of Coldplay, The Verve, Radiohead and The Script.

Eli and Oz Records
Eli and Oz Records is a subsidiary label of Euphonios which only releases new Scottish talent. Euphonios originated in Scotland before relocating to London but we will like to keep our roots. Eli and Oz started in 2010 and since then we have released some great bands.
DISCOPOLIS
In 2011 we released Discopolis' debut single 'Lofty Ambitions' which got BBC Introducing playlist of Radio 1 as well as support from many national press outlets including NME Radar Tip of the Day and then going on to make it into their list for 20 Most Exciting Bands for 2012 picking up the Number 12 slot. Discopolis are now going on to release a new single on another brilliant label called Kids (The Wombats, The Whip, Band Of Horses, The Good Natured) in 2012

The second act from our female pop day are called Nina Sky and are made up of twins Natalie & Nicole Albino. They have already featured in Major Lazer’s track ‘Keep It Goin’ Louder’.
Don’t get me wrong a lot of people will already know about these girls but we thought it was worth a blog for all of those who don’t. They have also recently done a song with uber cool producers ‘Creep’

Today is a day for female and pop and we have two great pop acts to post about. We never really remember how we come across music, it is usually just finding a website and linking to about 4 more from there until we find something awesome and that happened this morning.
The first act we want to feature is Nola Darling. We have been told that they hail from L.A., New York City and Miami by way of Haiti and St. Lucia, we’re not quite sure how possible this is but we believe them. Their music is a blend of Afrobeat, Haitian folkloric rhythms, Reggae, Soul, House and Jazz and they have recently been working with Kwame (Mary J Blige, Christina Aguilera, Missy Elliot). There is going to be a lot more to come from these two girls.

There are a lot of great acts coming out of New York at the moment but rather than sit and name them all I just want to draw attention to one….Caveman. With a debut album already under their belts and having recently signed to Fat Possum I see this band really shining in 2012. Their harmonies will lead to comparisons to the likes of Local Natives but it is their tribal drumming and their ability to really build a song that sets them apart.

There are very few times I come across a band who I am just automatically drawn to, in fact it hasn’t happened since Mumford and Sons back in 2008. I can’t even remember where I first heard them I just remember thinking how awesome the music was and being very excited indeed.
Post Gospel Blues and Church Bells are brilliant songs and I wondered what they were going to write to top this but having heard some of the other tracks they have recorded there is nothing to worry about, we are all in for a treat.

Woman’s Hour have been around for a little while now and are now gathering some pace off the back of their debut single Jenni. A band that obviously have many influences but manage to skirt round the edges of sounding too much like any of them (which is a great compliment coming from us). We are still to catch them live but with two London shows within the next week we will be there with bells on.
They play Old Blue Last on 4th January and MacBeth on 10th January

Phlo Finister is an 18 year old artist from LA. We recently came across her cover of Nancy Sinatra’s ‘Bang Bang’ with a little bit of Mobb Shock prodution thrown in for good measure. She has a spectacular voice and a great style, as you can see from the below video.
Since then she has gone on to do some more covers including a wonderfully haunting version of The Doors’ ‘Riders on the Storm’. I think there is a lot to come from this young girl. Check out some more tracks below which make up an EP called ‘Crown Gold’
